Mission Sichtbarkeit by Michael Kotzur: a free media feature — how the German network works

Full disclosure before anything else: my name is Michael Kotzur and Mission Sichtbarkeit is my own company. This is not an outside recommendation.

Since this board is about expert news, here is something that may be relevant to anyone selling to a German-speaking audience. We write an editorial feature about a person or a business and publish it across our network — more than 40 trade magazines and industry portals, plus over 20 review platforms. New clients get the first article for free, one per person.

One thing to be upfront about: the whole thing runs in German. The interview form, the call, the article itself. If your market is English-speaking, this will not help you. If you serve customers in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, it might.

How it works: you fill in a form on the site, which is really a written interview and takes a few minutes. We reply within 24 hours and call if anything needs clarifying. Then a conversation of roughly 45 minutes about positioning and which outlets fit, we write the piece, you approve it — about 15 minutes of your time. The form is here.

The obvious question when something costs nothing: is it legitimate? One free article per new client, no invoice afterwards, no subscription running in the background. What I do not promise is rankings, traffic or sales — anyone guaranteeing those should make you suspicious.

What I would like to hear: for those of you selling into the German market, what has your experience been with getting press coverage there? Is it worth the effort compared to paid traffic?
